‘Walking Dead’ Fan Kills Friend Before He Could ‘Turn’ Into A Zombie — Report

So sad. An inebriated ‘Walking Dead’ fan reportedly killed his friend when he feared that he was turning into a zombie. The details of the attack are truly disturbing. Here’s what we know.

Damon Perry of Prewitt, NM, beat his friend to death after binge-watching The Walking Dead, according to KOB 4 News. The drunken 23-year-old thought his friend Christopher Paquinn was turning into a zombie while trying to bite him, police say. We have all the chilling details.

This is just terrifying. Police arrived at Damon’s apartment building after reports of a man running around threatening tenants with a knife. There they found the body of Christopher with a knife lodged in his skull. Damon had been subdued by two maintenance workers.

After hours of watching The Walking Dead and binge drinking, Damon said his friend Christopher began transforming into a zombie and tried to bite him. He attacked him as though he were an actual zombie, knowing from the show that to kill them, you must destroy their brain. That’s where the story gets truly disturbing. Damon allegedly hit Christopher in the head with an electric guitar and a microwave, as well as kicking him repeatedly.

Sgt. Moses Marquez, the lead detective on the case, feels that Damon was acting out of genuine fear. “I do believe his story behind this is true,” Sgt. Marquez said to KOB 4 News. “He genuinely felt that his friend was changing into a zombie due to his inebriated state.  Our department is dealing with something that I have never seen or heard of in my entire 13 years here.”

At this point, Damon is being held at the Cibola County Detention Center. He has been charged with an open count of murder. Terror can make people do crazy things, but hopefully there’s more to blame here than just alcohol and The Walking Dead. There’s no word yet if Damon was under the influence of any other substance.
