Kim Kardashian takes the cake for the best Mermaid Halloween costume ever. Back in 2012, when she rocked the costume, we were obsessed with her hair and makeup, and we still are today. We spoke to a celeb makeup artist exclusively, and she gave us the low-down on how to get her stunning look.
How can we ever forget Kim Kardashian’s, 35, mermaid Halloween costume? Not only was the costume itself stunning, her hair and makeup was flawless. With Halloween just around the corner, it is your lucky day, because Celebrity Makeup Artist, Amber Dreadon, is breaking down how to get the look below.
Get the look with tips from Amber:
“Dreamy aqua eyes are the focus of this look, so if you wear glasses, consider talking to your doctor about switching to prescription contact lenses, like ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses.”
“Start with a natural bronzed base paired with a soft hint of pink on the cheeks and lips. Try using a cream blush that will work for both, so the look matches. I love Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick in Las Salinas – it is so easy to use.”
“Wash a soft sheer metallic gold shadow over the eyelid as a base. Choose one like Kevyn Aucoin “The Loose Shimmer” Eyeshadow in Candlelight it is so finely milled that it almost looks wet.”
“With an aqua eye pencil – Make Up For Ever Waterproof Pencil 12L is perfect – line around the upper and lower lash lines and blend the edges out using a firm eyeshadow brush.”
“Add a little smokiness to the outer corners of the eye with a deep chocolate eyeshadow. MAC Embark eyeshadow on a Smith Cosmetics #232 crease brush applied following the crease of the eye starting from the outer eye and blending inward will build up some depth.”
“Use a dramatic doll-like false lash on the top lash line. As the glue is drying, push them slightly upward so that they really open up the look of the eye. Ardell Demi Pixies are a great doll lash and if you are new applying false lashes try cutting them in half and applying in stages rather than trying to get the whole lash on in one go!”
“Apply several layers of a Diorshow Mascara to the lower lashes to achieve Kim’s clumpy effect. I like to use the mascara wand pointing upward and moving side to side on lower lashes so they can be slightly pushed together for added volume.”
To finish off the look, get a blonde wig and style in sexy, beachy waves.
