Dr. Drew tells HollywoodLife.com that Khloe shouldn’t called off her divorce so quickly because they should only be focusing on Lammy’s recovery and not rebuilding their relationship. HollywoodLifers, do you agree?
Khloe Kardashian is staying by Lamar Odom‘s side but Dr. Drew Pinksy says she should only be emotional support for him right now. HollywoodLife.com spoke with Dr. Drew about Lamar’s tough road ahead and he was adamant that Khloe has done a great job standing by Lamar’s side, but that she should not try to “reconcile” with her ex right now.
“There is just a basic aphorism that you don’t make any major changes for a year,” Dr. Drew, the host of the Dr. Drew Show on HLN, told us. “They are not divorced yet, so fine, don’t get divorced. That is a good non-change. You are estranged from your wife and not divorced, okay, stay that way for now. Don’t try and reconcile, don’t try and break up, just move forward in your recovery.” Khloe and Lamar called off their divorce once Lamar woke up from his coma after overdosing on drugs and partying with hookers.
“He is an important person in her life,” Dr. Drew also told us. “She has some co-dependency upon him and she should take care of that. She should be going to Al-Anon and/or getting a therapist. You can’t help a family member with this disease on your own. Nobody saves anybody from addiction. I think Khloe has been quite appropriate with how she has behaved. I think she has done about a good a job as you can do. What I think I am seeing at a distance is something you don’t often see, which is she is setting limits in very frustrating situations, but keeping love in her heart. She is saying, ‘I love you, but I cannot be around you because this is going to kill you.'”
Khloe released this statement when it was clear Lamar was on the road to recovery: “The past week has been incredibly difficult. I am so thankful to family, friends, and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar. I also want to take a moment to thank everyone at Sunrise Hospital, including the amazing doctors and nurses for their kindness and diligent work. Under their amazing care, incredible strides have been made. You can never be prepared for an experience like this, but without the outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received and the strength I was given from my loved ones, it would have been difficult to endure. Thank you for your continued support. God is great!!!”
HollywoodLifers, do you think it’s wrong for them to call off their divorce? Tune in to the Dr. Drew Show on HLN at 9PM ET.
