Earl Sweatshirt had some WORDS for Drake on Twitter this week! The rapper blasted Drizzy for claiming he discovered new artist Kodak Black, and went on a rant about how Drake is a ‘self-serving’ ‘vulture’ when it comes to promoting up-and-comers.
Uh-oh, it looks like Drake now has beef with ANOTHER artist! Earl Sweatshirt took to Twitter to slam his fellow rapper for taking credit for the success of new artists just to make himself look better. Read everything he had to say right here!
“drake found kodak black? smh welp,” Earl tweeted on Oct. 25, clearly with a sarcastic tone. But that was just the beginning — fans took notice of the tweet, and the rapper continued to explain himself as the questions started coming in.
“drake can be a bit of a vulture on young rap n***as and i don’t want lil kodak to be a victim of it,” he wrote. “I still feel like drake overall statement isn’t ‘check out this new s*** I heard’ it’s always self serving.” Basically, Earl is saying that Drake only promotes new music when it’s going to be beneficial for him or make him look good. Yikes.
“it’s not his job to develop them as artists,” he continued. “but the line between paying homage and wave riding is a blurry one. aye. but just like the line between paying homage and wave riding is a blurry so is the one between giving criticism and hating. so imma keep that in mind and charge head first into this lovely sunday morning.”
Drizzy is, of course, no stranger to having others throw shade at him. He’s been in an ongoing feud with Nicki Minaj’s fiancee, Meek Mill, for months, and the latest diss came one day before Drake’s 29th birthday, when Meek said his nemesis had “two left feet.” He was referring to the 29-year-old’s “Hotline Bling” video, in which Drake shows off some totally epic dance moves that have gone viral on the Internet — and even resulted in a ton of hilarious parodies!
HollywoodLifers, do you agree with Earl’s comments about Drake? Or do you think Drake is genuine when he promotes new artists?
