Christmas has some serious competition this year – Halloween light displays are the hot new thing! And we’ve never seen tech decorations as on-point as this house flashing along to Macklemore’s ‘Downtown.’
The catchiest song of the summer is now the newest Halloween anthem thanks to Edwards Landing Lights in Leesburg, VA. This light display synchronized to “Downtown” by Macklemore will keep you mesmerized for hours. Watch now!
So much for Jack-O-Lanterns! We’ve seen lights flashing along with music before, but this takes it to the next level! Edwards Landing Lights used 8,500 lights and 2,500 channels of computer animation, according to their YouTube page, to create four singing jack-o-lantern faces that belt out the Macklemore hit while trees and gravestones flash in sync.
That many lights must cost a fortune to run, right? Not in this green household! Most of the lights are energy efficient LEDs, so the bill for Halloween season clocks in at just $25-35. If you happen to be a Leesburg resident, don’t worry about the noise! The house is completely silent outside, viewers need to tune in to a special FM station to hear the song.
And Macklemore isn’t the only one getting the Halloween treatment. Every year, Edwards Landing Lights creates several synchronized displays. So far this year the house has been fitted for a spooky rendition of “House Party” by Sam Hunt and “Uma Thurman” by Fall Out Boy. Now all they need is a little Hotline Bling action.
What do you think, HollywoodLifers? What song should light up the Edwards house next? Let us know below!
