Leah Remini holds nothing back in her upcoming ’20/20′ special — and that’s made perfectly evident in this new preview. In the clip, she once again slams her former religion, and makes it clear she has no problem talking about Hollywood’s most famous Scientologist, Tom Cruise.
It seems no topic will be off limits in Leah Remini’s 20/20 special — she’s even going to dish on Tom Cruise’s famous association with the Church. But the King Of Queens star’s main objective in the sit-down is to really get the point across about why she made the difficult and frowned-upon decision to leave her longtime religion. Check out the first preview here.
“The decision to leave is…you’re giving up everything you’ve worked for your whole life,” Leah says in the preview. “I feel that people need to understand…this has been my whole life. And I want them to understand how it happens. And so, as time goes on, you start to lose touch with the real world.”
The actress famously left the Church of Scientology in July 2013, and members of the religion have publicly shamed her ever since. But she hasn’t been shy about her life-changing decision, and instead, has used her difficult time in doing so as a way to educate others. However, this interview, along with her upcoming memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, seem to include her most brutally honest revelations yet.
Scientology has several celebrity supporters, but Tom has been the most famous and talked about for quite some time. In the clip, Leah reveals just how much of an impact the actor has had on the religion, and it definitely seems like she might take some jabs at the star. “Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself,” she explains. “You are evil.”
The full interview airs on ABC Oct. 30, and Leah’s new book will hit shelves just four days later. HollywoodLifers, do you think Leah should still be talking about Scientology…or is enough enough already?
