And the Oscar goes to — Kylie Jenner! It could happen sooner than you think. An expert gives HollywoodLife.com the EXCLUSIVE scoop on how Kylie has ‘huge potential’ to become the next big star in both film and television.
Kylie Jenner, 18, is ready for her close-up. Kylie revealed she wanted to launch an acting career, but does she have a shot at taking over Hollywood the way she took over the Internet? According to what an expert EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com, the academy better start getting Kylie’s Emmys ready!
“Kylie has huge potential” to become a huge movie actress, Augie Lasseter, owner of the Front Management agency, EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com, “largely because she already has star power.” He’s right. Kylie is one of the biggest names in pop culture today, thanks to her active life on social media. Plus, Kylie’s Instagram account may be how she lands her first role in a feature film.
“These days, any young actress is expected to build their social media following and Kylie comes with that already,” Augie tells HollywoodLife.com. Kylie took the title of Queen of the Internet from her sister, Kim Kardashian, so she has social media on lock. But, there’s more to acting than selfies and Snapchat.
“[Kylie’s] gorgeous — the camera loves her. The big thing to see though is: can she act?” Augie tells HollywoodLife.com. “That’s going to be the key. Take Cindy Crawford: you can’t get a bad angle on her — she’s flawless. And she’s very comfortable around the camera so that wasn’t the issue. But, she tried acting and realized that she’s not an actress.”
Augie has a point. Cindy’s movie, Fair Game, has only a 13% rating on RottenTomatoes.com. Yikes. Hopefully, Kylie will do better. With her mother, Kris Jenner, helping her pick out scripts, Kylie may not end up acting in a flop. As for being comfortable around the camera, Kylie practically grew up on reality television. All she needs now is the acting skills — but according to Augie, she won’t need to be classically trained in order for her to get cast in a movie.
“Whether Kylie can or can’t act we still have to see,” Augie tells HollywoodLife.com, “but I’d say out of the gate a lot of producers are going to be interested in hiring Kylie because of the sheer number of fans she has.” So, Kylie should have no problem becoming a star. But, if acting doesn’t work out, she has her potential rap career to fall back on.
Do you think Kylie will take over Hollywood, HollywoodLifers? Would you watch her act in a television show or in a feature film?
