It’s not Halloween without ‘Hocus Pocus,’ but don’t expect a new one anytime soon. The star of the film, Miss Winifred Sanderson herself, took to Twitter with quite the reason — and fans are volunteering to help.
Oh, Sanderson Sisters, please come out and play! Of course I’m talking about Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Nijimy who portrayed the legendary witches in the ’93 movie, Hocus Pocus. But Bette got us all really excited when talking about a sequel on Twitter — and the one reason it’s delayed. Kinda.

As you can see, she totally wants to do it, and well, a lot of fans are answering her letting them know that they are volunteering as tribute to light the black flame candle!
Of course, no sequel has actually been confirmed but everyone is on board! Director Kenny Ortega told us recently he wouldn’t mind doing a second movie with the original ladies of course. “I have a feeling that maybe someday, someone might revisit it,” Kenny said. “The Sanderson Sisters deserve another opportunity to land in the middle of something and do it again. They’re too much fun. Kathy Nijimy, Sarah Jessica Parker, Bette Midler — that’s a winner right there.”
In 2014, Bette spoke out via Reddit, saying they are willing, but “have no say in it” — that’s all Disney (maybe that’s why she @’d them on Twitter?) She also wrote, “You have been SO adorable. This has been most enlightening. SISTAHS!” Naturally, Kathy responded to that, saying “A sequel is totally in The Disney company’s hands, and it will be exciting to see what transpires!” Even Sean Murray said he’d make a cameo (hey Max!).
So pretty much, now we’ll just wait for sit here and wait for Disney.
