Lamar Odom has his sights set on a major goal. With lots of rehabilitation needed to aid his mobility, Lamar has a long road ahead. But when he’s fully recovered, the former Lakers star is hoping to step onto the basketball court once more, HollywoodLife.com can EXCLUSIVELY reveal. Read the full details here!
It’s small steps and accessible goals from now on for Lamar Odom, 35. He has vowed to Khloe Kardashian, 31, his friends and family to play basketball once again following his terrifying hospitalization after an alleged drug overdose, HollywoodLife.com can EXCLUSIVELY reveal.
“Lamar has vowed to Khloe, friends and family that he’ll return to the basketball court one day,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “Obviously, he needs a lot of rehab before that could ever happen, but it’s his end goal at the end of everything. Basketball is still his first love, and he’s always made sure to keep in shape, even when he was a free agent, in the hope that he may get signed again.”
Lamar reportedly suffered 12 strokes, according to TMZ, after falling unconscious at a Nevada brothel earlier this month, and it is believed that his brain scans revealed that his motor skills could be affected, as well as his mobility.
But nonetheless, Lamar will work hard on his rehab and recovery with the end goal of going back to his first love — basketball. However, we shouldn’t expect a return to the NBA because the source cautiously adds, “But this return wouldn’t be professional. If it’s just to shoot some hoops with friends, former teammates, that is what he is aiming for.”
Meanwhile, as HollywoodLife.com previously told you, Khloe, who has kept a bedside vigil by Lamar as he continues his recovery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, fears that he may take a turn for the worst.
“Unless you’ve been through it, you have no idea what it’s like to come so close to losing someone you love. Khloe is still in shock over it all. She’s been running on adrenaline for more than a week now. She can’t relax because she’s still so scared for Lamar,” a source told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Lamar has made strides, but he’s also undergone two emergency surgeries and is now in a “fragile state of mind.” After nearly losing him, Khloe is constantly worried about Lamar.
“Every minute feels like it could be the last, and she’s on pins and needles,” our source continues. “It’s been such a roller coaster, from the lowest of the low to the highest of the high. But the stress isn’t over by any means, she’s still in a constant state of anxiety.”
