Lamar Odom’s medical status may be even graver than we’ve imagined, with a new report stating that he suffered 12 strokes. Khloe and his family are hoping and praying that the damage hasn’t affected his motor skills forever.
Shortly after Lamar Odom, 35, was admitted to the hospital after suffering an alleged significant drug overdose on October 13, he experienced a series of strokes. And now, according to TMZ, that number has been revealed as a shocking 12! Lamar’s ability to walk and talk have been affected, and the question remains if the damage is everlasting.
Lamar’s doctors have performed a series of brain scans, which have confirmed that Khloe Kardashian‘s husband did indeed suffer from 12 strokes. These ischemic strokes didn’t affect any of Lamar’s vital organs, according to TMZ, but the events did impact his ability to walk and talk. It’s unknown at this point what the extent of the damage done to his motor skills is, or if any of his impairment from the strokes will be permanent.
Lamar is potentially still having problems with his kidneys, as well. Lamar was in kidney failure, and underwent dialysis; he may receive a kidney transplant. If that happens, he may not need to wait long for that to happen; tons of his fans have offered to undergo transplant surgery if they’re a match with the NBA hero, in order to give him the vital organ.
Of course, the transplant process isn’t as easy as offering up a kidney, but it’s the thought that counts. Lamar is incredibly loved, and has a lot of well wishers out there. And hopefully, the need for a transplant is irrelevant.
We wish Lamar nothing but a speedy recovery! HollywoodLifers, help us send our love to Lamar and his family during this difficult time.
