Is it just us or does President Barack Obama need his own late night show? He showed off his stand-up skills Friday while comparing Republicans to Grumpy Cat, and topped it all off with his own impression of the feline!
President Barack Obama, 54, made a hysterical comparison between the Republican candidates and everyone’s favorite feline Grumpy Cat on Friday. But the best part is his own attempt to mimic that purr-fect little pout! You’ve got to see the pics.
President Obama’s speech at the Democratic Women’s Leadership Forum Friday wound up feeling more like a comedy routine toward the end when he compared the Republican presidential candidates to the unhappy house cat, saying “why is it that Republican politicians are so down on America? I mean they are gloomy. They’re like Grumpy Cat.” He punctuated his statement, which aired on ABC, with his own attempt at the famous frown, saying “everything is terrible, according to them.”
He also had some serious statements to follow the hilarity, saying “We’ve got some great candidates but when you watched the debate between the Democrats, it was logical and civil and people didn’t agree with everything but they weren’t just saying crazy stuff.” He continued, “It made me proud because it said we’ve got a party that’s inclusive and wants everybody to join and get involved and showed that we can disagree without being disagreeable.” We love that President Obama is trying to spread some positivity and keep the race to the White House drama-free.
The Pres has been on a silly streak lately, recently cracking a joke about Kanye West running for president in 2020. He said ‘Ye should go by Peezy and gave him some advice for running the country. Only time will tell if Kanye, or the Republican candidates, will use his words of wisdom. Let’s just hope they can take a joke.
