OMG! They’re finally here! On Oct. 21, also dubbed ‘Back To The Future’ Day, Michael J. Fox showed off the first-ever pair of self-lacing Nikes on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Click to WATCH!
Looks like Back To The Future 2 really did predict the future! In honor of when Marty McFly and Doc Brown traveled to the future, Michael J. Fox, 54, got to try on those self-lacing Nike Air Mags that were predicted to be around in the future. Michael showed them off on the Oct. 21 episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, and now we all want a pair!
Michael was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel’s Brooklyn show and brought out those epic shoes. They’ll be available by auction in 2016 to benefit the Michael J. Fox Foundation. Nike CEO Mark Parker gave Michael the first-ever pair of self-lacing Nikes on earlier in the day.
Just like Back to the Future 2 predicted, they lace up on their own. Basically, they’re going to be saving us all so much time. As expected, Michael got the honors of trying them out first. “It’s fun being me,” Michael told Jimmy. You got that right!
Earlier in the day, Michael posted a video on his foundation’s Instagram page of him trying on the shoes. What a moment!
Also during the show, Michael and Christopher Lloyd reprised their roles as the iconic BTTF duo. They made fun of selfies, cronuts, Donald Trump and more crazy things that are happening in 2015. In addition to the self-lacing Nikes, our world today has 3D movies, Pepsi Perfect and fingerprint technology. In the film, it was predicted that the Chicago Cubs would win the 2015 World Series, but the Cubs sadly lost to the New York Mets on Oct. 21.
Man, it was a great day to be a Back to the Future fan! Self-lacing Nikes are the face of the future, don’t you think? It warms our hearts that Michael was the guy to try on the shoes first. Everything came full circle on Back to the Future Day!
HollywoodLifers, do you want a pair of the self-lacing Nikes? Let us know!
