Lamar Odom is reportedly suffering from an infection and struggling to stand up after his alleged drug overdose, but despite the long road to recovery ahead of him, he’s determined to make it back to the NBA, HollywoodLife.com has EXCLUSIVELY learned.
Lamar Odom, 35, is a fighter. He already miraculously survived a reported drug overdose, and despite some complications — an alleged infection and difficulty standing — he’s determined to return to the NBA once he recovers.
“Lamar isn’t close to making a full recovery yet, but he is still determined to make it back to the NBA. Before his brothel bender, he was working out a lot with a trainer with hopes of catching on with a team — preferably the Lakers. He knows his days as an all-star are gone, but he thinks he can still help a team for a few minutes a game,” a source tells HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY.
Lamar never recovered after the Los Angeles Lakers traded him — it was one of the biggest “heartbreaks” in his life — so if he made it back on the court one day, that would be amazing.
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Lamar is receiving constant care at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. He transferred there from Vegas’ Sunrise Hospital on Oct. 19, arriving via helicopter with Khloe Kardashian by his side. She actually hasn’t left him since he was admitted on Oct. 13. And on Oct. 21, they called off their divorce. So now that Lamar has one of his loves back in his life (Khloe), he’s going after the other (basketball). And we love his determination. We think if Lamar works hard enough, he can certainly do anything he wants. We’ll keep him in our thoughts and hopefully, he pushes through the complications he’s currently facing. If anyone deserves a comeback, Lamar does.
