Amongst all of the other responsibilities Louis took on once he became a dad-to-be, picking a godfather may have seemed like a daunting decision. Once he really thought about it, though, a source tells us Simon was the clear winner!
“Louis has made his decision and it’s 100% Simon. He wants Simon to be his child’s godfather. Simon has had such an influence on him and he says Simon is a brilliant person and a brilliant father,” the insider revealed to HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. “He would be so honored to have Simon as his baby’s godfather. Simon has been so supportive of Louis ever since the news broke of the baby. He has made it clear that he is there for Louis if he has any questions or concerns about fatherhood.”

Although some Directioners might be shocked that Louis didn’t prefer one of his 1D boys to fill the godfather role, it’s hard to argue that Simon is a great choice. Besides, Simon is a father himself, and One Direction is going on a hiatus in 2016 anyway — Simon definitely seems like the best bet!
Plus, Simon was the one to tell Louis to “man up” upon finding out he was going to be a dad. Ever since Simon told him that, another insider told us that Louis is determined to be the best dad he can be! It sounds like Simon is an amazing influence, and we love that he’s going to have such an important role in Louis’ baby’s life!
