Here’s the main lesson learned after this week’s ‘American Horror Story: Hotel’ — never get on Angela Bassett’s bad side.
We finally were introduced to Ramona (Angela Bassett) for the badass she was — she literally kidnapped Donovan (Matt Bomer) and threw him in her trunk. When he woke up, she was draining his blood. Don’t worry, we’ll explain.
Here’s what we found out about her past: she was a B-movie actress who couldn’t get a lead role — until meeting The Countess (Lady Gaga). They were together for nearly 20 years, but she wanted to be Countess’ only one. Ramona later fell for Mo, a rapper who she wanted to spend forever with. But when Countess found out, she killed him. So, Ramona’s goal was to take what she cared about the most: her children.
We also found out The Countess’ plan with Will Drake (Cheyenne Jackson): marry him for money then kill him. Duh. That is why she didn’t let her man Tristan (Finn Wittrock) kill him. However, Will did have hot make outs with both of them, and while he’s gay, he was definitely attracted to her.
Meanwhile At Hotel Cortex
*Alex (Chloe Sevigny) finally decided to throw in the towel with her husband. We found out that she had a bad childhood, and when she did have Holden, she had never loved anything more than him — she even tried committing suicide, but her husband had saved her. The result was divorce papers. However, on her way out she saw her son, so let’s just assume they won’t really be splitting up. She also ran into a dead Claudia…
*Claudia (Naomi Campbell) was gone pretty quick, after getting killed by Max Greenfield‘s Gabriel, who I’ve renamed as the man in the bed. Also, he was somehow alive inside that bed, but Det. Lowe (Wes Bentley) rushed him to the hospital and he died there after kind of telling the detective about Sally (Sarah Paulson). We’re pretty sure that Sally and the Detective hooked up in an elevator too, but it may have been his imagination… regardless, it was hot.
*Dono and Iris (Kathy Bates) got into a crazy fight and she begged him to move out together. He was pretty much as mean as could be and told her to go die. So, she had Sally pump her with drugs and tie a bag around her head. However, at the last minute, after some great advice from Liz Taylor (Denis O’Hare), Dono ran into the room, and fed her his blood. So, looks like now she’ll be a bitch and a vampire.
And for a bonus, next week is going to be a killer dinner — literally with famous killers, including Aileen Wuornos (played by Lily Rabe) David Burkowitz, a man we can assume Jeffrey Dahmer and John Wayne Gacy (in his clown makeup, oddly enough played by the Freak Show clown, John Carol Lynch). Until then…
