Oh, no! One Direction was forced to cancel one of their last shows before taking a break after Liam Payne got sick. Is he going to be okay?
Liam Payne, 22, has fallen suddenly ill, which caused One Direction to cancel their Oct. 20 concert in Belfast. Unfortunately for the fans, they had already filled the sold out SSE Arena and were waiting patiently for the group to come out and perform. Yikes!
“Unfortunately One Direction have had to cancel tonight’s concert in Belfast. Liam has been taken suddenly ill, and the concert will sadly not be taking place,” an official rep for the band tells HollywoodLife.com. “Fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets and there will be a further statement tomorrow. The band apologize to their fans and wish Liam well as soon as possible.”
Aw, poor Liam! And poor One Directions fans, too, though they are probably more concerned about a member of one of their favorite band than anything else right now. And who can blame them for that? Reports claim that the concert was scheduled to start at 8:30pm, but it wasn’t until 9:03pm that the audience was alerted to the cancellation.
“The One Direction show tonight has been cancelled as Liam has taken ill, and whilst not serious, he is unable to perform tonight. Please hold on to your tickets. A further statement will be made in the morning. The band apologizes to the fans and wish Liam better.”
Wow, that is so scary. It’s great to know that Liam’s illness isn’t very serious, but HollywoodLife.com is definitely rooting for him. Plus, by the look of the statement from their rep, the band will (hopefully) be rescheduling their show for a later date. Get well soon, Mr. Payne!
HollywoodLife.com has reached out to 1D’s reps, so please stay tuned for an update and/or an official statement from the group.
