It’s a sad day for One Direction fans. The band was forced to cancel one of their last shows before taking a break after Liam Payne came down with a mysterious illness. And in an attempt to soften the blow, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson took to Twitter to apologize.
Harry Styles, 21, and Louis Tomlinson, 23, are “very disappointed” that One Direction was forced to cancel their Oct. 20 concert in Belfast after Liam Payne, 22, got sick. Fans are now horribly worried, but Harry and Louis took to Twitter earlier today in hopes of calming their diehard fans’ nerves. See what they said!
“Deepest apologies to everyone at the show tonight in Belfast. Very disappointed, but unfortunately these things happen. We’re very sorry. H,” Harry wrote on Twitter, while Louis said, “We’re so so sorry for what happened tonight, it was out of our control ! Lots of love to Liam and thank you for being so understanding !”
We have to admit — it’s sweet that Harry and Louis took to Twitter to apologize to their fans, but we’re not so sure they’ll be so forgiving. After all, fans had already filled the sold out SSE Arena and were waiting for the group to come out and perform when they learned the concert was cancelled.
“Unfortunately One Direction have had to cancel tonight’s concert in Belfast. Liam has been taken suddenly ill, and the concert will sadly not be taking place,” an official rep for the band told HollywoodLife.com. “Fans have been asked to hold on to their tickets and there will be a further statement tomorrow. The band apologize to their fans and wish Liam well as soon as possible.”
Of course, our thoughts go out to Liam. While fans were likely upset by the cancellation, “these things happen,” as Harry said. And we have a feeling the band will make it up to their fans. But for now, we hope Liam feels better soon!
