Yes, yes, YES! Every Star Wars fan in the world waited anxiously for the latest trailer of Star Wars: The Force Awakens. And it finally premiered on Oct. 19. The new footage is light on plot, but it’s still jam packed with explosive moments!
The trailer premiered during ESPN’s Monday Night Football game between the New York Giants and the Philadelphia Eagles. And in the nearly three-minute trailer, we see a lot of scenes between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega), as well as new antagonist Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) talking to the helmet of Darth Vader. (“I will finish what you started.”) Unfortunately, there’s no sign of Luke Skywalker, but Han Solo (Harrison Ford) did some talking, telling Rey that the tales of the Jedi, the Dark Side, etc. are all real.
Star Wars: The Complete Saga (Episodes I-VI) [Blu-ray]
Before the trailer’s big premiere, a series of sneak peeks were revealed featuring Rey, Poe (Oscar Isaac) and Finn. One preview promised the First Order was coming.
An incredible new poster debuted one day before the trailer. The poster featured new and original characters, including Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia and Han Solo. One person in particular who was missing was Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), just as he is in the new trailer. Why so shy, Luke?!
One of the first trailers for the highly-anticipated movie was released back in April 2015. The teaser provided first looks at Han, Chewbacca and the new players in action. Another juicy trailer showed off the movie’s villains, including Kylo Ren, Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie) and General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), who are all a part of the evil group called the First Order.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens hits theaters Dec. 18.
