Drake is seriously on fire these days! After dropping an epic duet with Beyonce on the new track “Can I,” the Canadian rapper has proven once again to be on top of his game with the release of his new music video for “Hotline Bling” on Apple Music. The Director X-helmed video opens with an office full of gorgeous women working the hotline at a phone sex call center, before shifting to a turtleneck-wearing Drake. Besides the chic wardrobe, Drizzy also shares some subtle cha-cha-inspired moves that are sure to make you swoon — so smooth!
Since Drake debuted the song on OVO Sound’s Beats 1 radio show in late July, the track has proved to be a smash hit as it currently sits at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 List — the closest Drake has ever got to a number one single. And if that weren’t proof enough of the song’s success, everyone from Nick Jonas, 22, to Disclosure and Sam Smith, 23, have either covered the track live or recorded it to distribute online. In light of its popularity, Drizzy has been working overtime to help push the sexy single to number one.
“I have never had a billboard number one,” he wrote on Instagram Oct. 15 alongside a photo of Billboard’s tweet announcing his No. 2 spot. “If I get my first number one during the month of October it will be the biggest moment of my career to date (in my mind) and if you are looking for me on that particular evening I will be passed out in the water slide that connects to our pool.”
