Maybe these two really were separated at birth. Larry David took on the role of Bernie Sanders during the cold open of the Oct. 17 episode of ‘Saturday Night Live’. You have to see this.
“I don’t have a Super PAC — I don’t have a backpack,” Bernie Sanders, er, Larry David as Bernie Sanders said during the SNL opening, where the Democratic debate was recreated. After many many comparisons to the candidate, Larry David took it by stride by literally turning into Bernie for this epic skit.
“I’m hungry, but I’m good, and if you don’t mind, I’m going to dial it right up to a ten. We’re doomed!” he said. “I don’t have a Super PAC — I don’t have a backpack. I carry my stuff around loose in my arms! Like a professor between classes! I own one pair of underwear, that’s it! Some of these billionaires, they have three, four pairs!”
The opener was pretty much a perfect depiction of what we saw on the debate last week — and Larry as Bernie was just the start.
Alec Baldwin was also on hand as ex-Senator Jim Webb, who wanted “more time” but didn’t want to actually answer any questions; and of course, Kate McKinnon took on Hillary Clinton — and well, it was perfect.
“I think you’re really gonna like the Hillary Clinton that my team and I have created for this debate,” she said, before adding that in this year, she gets “to be the cool black guy!” Catch up on SNL for free on Amazon Prime.
Overall, the episode was an extreme success with Tracy Morgan making his return to SNL, staging a 30 Rock reunion, and doing quite a hysterical skit with musical guest, Demi Lovato. Did you love this episode as much as we did?
