Lamar Odom may be the one struggling in a coma, but his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, needs just as much love and support. An expert spoke EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com about how it’s incredibly ‘important’ that Khloe’s loved ones take care of her so she can ‘make it,’ even if Lamar doesn’t.
Friends and fans have shown love for Lamar Odom, 35, as he remains in a comatose state, but they must not forget about his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, 31. Lamar’s tragedy is taking a huge toll on Khloe and her family needs to be there for her the same way she’s been there for Lamar. HollywoodLife.com spoke with an expert on what her loved ones can do to ensure she also survives this heartbreaking ordeal. Khloe’s friends and loved ones must “be present for her and her family,” William Moyers, Vice President of the Hazelden Betty Ford Foundation, EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com. He also said that people shouldn’t “point fingers” at this time, and that “most importantly, [Khloe’s family must] take care of themselves and take care of her.”
“Lamar may not make it but the family can make it,” William tells HollywoodLife.com, adding that this is a time for the Kardashians’ friends and family to unite behind Khloe. “What’s really important is that people stand by this sick man and this hurting family. Don’t make it a spectacle for Hollywood and don’t make it a moment of shame either.”
Khloe and Lamar’s friends and family have rallied behind them during this horrible tragedy. Her current love, James Harden, has given his support to Khloe as she waits by Lamar’s bedside. Lamar’s kids, Destiny Odom and Lamar Jr. Odom, expressed love for their daddy while asking people to pray for him. Even Lamar’s former teammate, Kobe Bryant, was one of the first people to visit Lamar in this hospital. Plus, Khloe’s family — from Kim Kardashian to Kylie Jenner — rushed to Vegas to give love to both her and Lamar.
This show of love is exactly what Khloe needs. “Addiction is a family illness whether Lama makes it or not,” William tells HollywoodLife.com, emphasizing that this is a time for the Kardashians to remember the love they share for each another. “This is the moment the family has to stick together and recover by helping each other through it.”
One thing Khloe doesn’t need during this time is to start blaming herself over what happened to Lamar. Though she is reportedly having “guilt issues,” William EXCLUSIVELY tells HollywoodLife.com that “Khloe needs to be reminded that she WAS there for Lamar the best way she could be and she needs to reminded that she brought so much love and joy into his life.”
