Lamar Odom is getting support and prayers from all over as he fights for his life in the hospital, and longtime L.A. Lakers fan, David Beckham, has sent a sweet message of encouragement. See his Instagram here.
David Beckham, 40, is holding out hope for Lamar Odom. The soccer stud, who is a fan of Lamar’s former basketball team, the Los Angeles Lakers, took to Instagram to show his support for the ex-NBA star. Read his short but sweet photo caption here.
“Stay strong brother,” David captioned a photo of Lamar on the basketball court. L.O. hasn’t played on the Lakers since 2011, but he was a prominent player when he was part of the team, winning two championships and the 6th Man of the Year trophy during his time there.
Lamar was found unconscious after an alleged drug overdose at a Nevada brothel on Oct. 13, and showed no sign of improvement during his first two days. Not only did the 35-year-old reportedly suffer multiple strokes, but four of his major organs, including his heart and kidneys, were failing.
However, by midmorning on Oct. 16, Lamar allegedly began to show signs of improvement. “It’s a miracle! Lamar is slowly waking up,” an insider told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY. Two other reports also alleged that Lamar had ‘opened his eyes,’ and with one even claiming that he’d “communicated” that he wanted to see his children. Still, TMZ has disputed these claims, and say the only improvement so far has been in his heart, so it’s impossible to know what exactly is going on at this point.
Even if/when Lamar does wake up, Khloe Kardashian, 31, and his family members have been warned to expect the worst. “Doctors have indicated to the family that the longer Lamar remains unresponsive, the less likely he mitt have normal brain function if and when he wakes up,” E! news reports. The family has been told to prepare for “everything,” including a longterm hospital stay and severe disability. Click here to watch Lamar in happier times on Khloe & Lamar.
