Lupita Nyong’o celebrated the opening of her off-Broadway play with an understated beauty look for fall. The actress wore a fuchsia colored lip with simple eye makeup and her natural hair accented with a braid. Find out her exact lipstick shade!
Lupita Nyong’o, 32, broke out every shade of berry imaginable in NYC on October 14 for the opening night of Eclipsed, her new off-Broadway play about four wives in war-torn Liberia. The Academy Award-winning actress wore a gorgeous rich red and black Dior dress with a tulle skirt, and the perfect fuchsia lipstick for dark skin.
For Lupita’s standout lip, makeup artist Nick Barose used the new Lancome L’Absolu Velours Velvet Matte Lip Colour in Velours de Violine. The new lip color applies like a lip gloss, but is much more pigmented and has a velvety smooth matte finish. Even if you don’t think a brighter lip will complement your skin tone, you can still try the new finish in a classic red shade or darker berry.
For the rest of the Lancome spokesmodel’s makeup, Nick kept it simple. To get a perfect base like Lupita, use Lancome Visionnaire 1 Minute Blur Cream to smooth over fine lines, wrinkles and pores. After you apply a bit of foundation and blush, line your eyes with a black liner like Lancome Artliner in Noir and coat lashes in mascara with Lancome Definicils Mascara.

Hairstylist Lacy Redway kept Lupita’s curls natural, giving them an added bit of elegance with a braid wrapped around the crown of her head.
