OMG! We can’t believe that just happened. As Arizona dreaded meeting Callie’s new girlfriend on the Oct. 15 episode of ‘Grey’s Anatomy,’ it should have been Meredith who needed to prepare herself for the nerve-wracking introduction. You’ll never believe who Callie’s dating!
So. Freaking. Awkward. Callie (Sara Ramirez) has a new girlfriend named Penny, but she may have to break up with her hella quick once she finds out how Penny’s connected to Meredith (Ellen Pompeo). No, Meredith and Penny never dated, but if that were the case, it’d be a lot easier to deal with than what’s really going on. Confused? Let us explain.
A “silver flood” — a swarm of elderly patients — took over Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital on the Oct. 15 episode of Grey’s Anatomy, but the only flood we could concentrate on was the one full of our emotions after we discovered that Callie is dating the woman who killed Derek (Patrick Dempsey)! She didn’t actually kill Derek, but her poor decisions in the neighboring hospital resulted in Derek’s heartbreaking death. Poor Meredith. We can only imagine that if next week’s episode picks up where this one left off, Meredith will slam the door in her face. At least, that’s what we would do. Earlier in the episode, Meredith said she’ll never forget the face of the person who told her Derek was dead, so that just made this awkward encounter that much more uncomfortable for us to watch.
And speaking of being uncomfortable, Maggie (Kelly McCreary) told Meredith that her entire body hurt after having sex with Andrew. And even though she vowed it would be a one time thing, they were jumping back on the orgasm train by the end of the episode.
Meanwhile, Stephanie (Jerrika Hinton) had a hard time dealing with a patient, whom she and Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) kept pushing to walk across the room, despite the extreme pain she was feeling. When Stephanie revealed that she couldn’t handle the situation because she had sickle cell anemia as a child, and was pushed to her breaking point in a similar situation, Jo (Camilla Luddington) called her a liar. But it actually ended up being true, and now Jo’s friendship with Stephanie seems to be at its own breaking point.
Things are still a mess for April (Sarah Drew) and Jackson (Jesse Williams), but they had zero communication with each other this week. We’re just not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. One thing that’s definitely bad, however, is Callie’s new relationship with Penny.
What do YOU think, HollywoodLifers? Should Callie break up with Penny because of her connection to Meredith? Vote in our poll and tell us how you feel!
