Tyra Banks is sharing selfie advice, and while we normally wouldn’t argue with the supermodel and inventor of the ‘smize,’ her advice is completely different from selfie queen Kim Kardashian. Check out their tips, below!
Tyra Banks, 41, has been posing in front of the camera for every major fashion house and magazine for over 20 years, so when she talks how to take the perfect selfie, we listen. But her main advice is the exact opposite from what we’ve been hearing from Kim Kardashian. Take a look at their advice, then let us know whose selfies you think reign supreme.
First up, let’s look at Kim, who dedicated a whole book to the art of taking selfies. Whether she’s sharing tips in her T-Mobile commercial or one of the many interviews she gives, Kim has been saying for years that a superior selfie all comes down to good lighting, knowing your best angle (hers is with her chin tilted downwards) and holding the camera slightly higher than face level.
Meanwhile, Tyra, who’s got an Instagram full of selfies shared her own advice, and here’s where it gets confusing. Though Tyra agrees that tilting your head and knowing your best angle is crucial, she swears by holding the phone below face level to give your face and neck a more lengthened look.
Tyra Banks’ Selfie Tips — Is Her Advice Better Than Kim Kardashian’s?
Judging from the results of their selfies, Kim and Tyra’s advice both works, but it also doesn’t hurt to have the perfect makeup and hair. To give your face a boost pre-selfie, prep your skin with a primer like Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer, which will minimize the appearance of fine lines and pores for a flawless face whether you hold your phone above your face like Kim or below like Tyra.
