Taylor Swift, 25, is always one we love to watch on the red carpet at the Met Gala, so it comes as no surprise to see the stylish songstress take on a bigger role for the glam occasion. The star is set to co-host the formal affair, which is set to take place on May 2, 2016, in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Robert Lehman Wing and the Anna Wintour Costume Center. Taylor will serve as co-chair to the 2016 Met Gala alongside Idris Elba, Jonathan Ive and Anna Wintour. Honorary Chairs include Nicolas Ghesquière, Karl Lagerfeld, and Miuccia Prada. This year’s theme will be manus x machina: fashion in the age of technology. The exhibit will be on display and open to the public from May 5-August 14. The exhibit will explore the impact of new technology on fashion — a theme that’s definitely so relevant in the ever-changing landscape. It will also explore how designers blend handmade techniques with machine-made creations in both haute couture and avant-garde, ready-to-wear designs.
