One Direction Tease New Single ‘Perfect’ In Concert: Is it About Taylor Swift?

Harry Styles was most of the inspiration behind Taylor Swift’s album ‘1989,’ and now, it looks like he’s sticking it right back to his ex! Alleged lyrics to One Direction’s new single ‘Perfect’ have leaked…and they definitely seem to reference the ‘Wildest Dreams’ singer!

The tables have turned on Taylor Swift! The 25-year-old is known for writing songs about her exes, but it looks like One Direction’s new song might actually be about her. Taylor famously dated 1D band member Harry Styles, 21, and the reported lyrics to the band’s new song, “Perfect,” totally allude to their relationship! To hear more about Taylor Swift, head over to iTunes and download the latest HollywoodLife podcast for free!

Harry was actually the one to confirm the band’s new single on Oct. 9 (no release date has been revealed yet), so it would make sense that the track has a special meaning for him specifically. During the group’s concert in Birmingham on Oct. 12, Liam Payne got the crowd totally amped up by asking if they were excited for the song.

And the 21-year-old took things a step further by teasing, “Should we play it?!” The audience, naturally, erupted in screams, but Harry simply followed it up by adding, “What a shame,” revealing that they would not be breaking out into the song. At one point in the song, Harry reportedly sings about just being “someone to write break-up songs about,” which we know Taylor did with the songs “Style” and “Out Of The Woods,” among others. “Perfect”‘s chorus reportedly includes the lyrics: “If you like when I’m driving with the windows down, If you like going places we can’t even pronounce, If you like to do whatever you’ve been dreaming about, Baby you’re perfect.” Interestingly, the ‘windows down’ reference is similar to a line in Taylor’s song “I Wish You Would,” in which she sings, “It’s 2 am, in your car, windows down, you pass my street, the memories start.” Hmm…

“Harry would never get too specific about Taylor in a song, but the lyrics are definitely going to get fans speculating,” a source told The Sun. “He doesn’t want to dish the dirt, but a relationship as intense as theirs has provided lots of information.” AHH…can this song — not to mention the band’s new album — just come out already!?
