Girl power will be in FULL force if Rita Ora gets her wish on this one! The singer has revealed her career plans to recreate the hit ‘Lady Marmalade,’ and she has three amazing stars in mind who she wants to join her on the track. Find out who!
File this under: Dream Collaborations! Rita Ora, 24, wants to fill some majorly big shoes by releasing a new version of the song “Lady Marmalade,” and she already knows which three singers she wants to ask to sing along. You’ll be petitioning for this one to come to fruition once you find out who — click inside!
“It’s always been my goal to recreate another “Lady Marmalade,”” the 24-year-old told The Sun. “I’m trying to round up the troops. I think it would be me, Miley [Cyrus], Charli XCX — she’d be fun — and Iggy [Azalea].” Umm…say what?! Talk about #SquadGoals, right?!
“Lady Marmalade” was originally recorded by LaBelle in 1975, but was brought to life once again in 2001, when Christina Aguilera, Pink, Mya and Lil Kim joined forces to produce a new version of the track. The cover shot to No. 1 on the Billboard charts, and we have no doubt that the same thing would happen if Rita is successful.
Rita is currently hard at work on her new album, which will be her first project commercially released in the U.S., and this would certainly be an amazing addition that would offer incredible promotion for her. Of course, it’s also a very lofty goal and the gals would have massive shoes to fill, but we have no doubt that they’d be able to pull it off!
