Surprise! Jared Leto, the Joker of the upcoming ‘Suicide Squad’ movie, played a joke on fellow Jokers at New York Comic-Con on Oct. 11. He walked the convention floor while in disguise, posing for pictures with fans that had no idea it was Jared under that mask!
He who lasts last, laughs best. Jared Leto, 47, had the biggest laugh of them all at New York Comic-Con. What better way for Jared to prove he’s truly the king of the Jokers than by playing a prank on fellow Joker-fans at one of the biggest comic conventions around?
There were plenty of amazing costumed characters during the four-day event at New York City’s Javits center. But, if fans posed for a picture next to a man in a giant baboon mask, they now have a shot of them with an Academy Award winner. Jared revealed his prank on his social media accounts on Oct. 11, even sharing a pic of him next to someone dressed up as Jared’s version of the Clown Prince Of Crime.
“He had no idea. : ),” Jared captioned the picture. If only that Joker-fan knew. His smile would have been ten-times as big. Some might think that Jared’s “Rafiki from The Lion King” mask was more frightening than his appearance in the Suicide Squad trailer, but it was clearly the right choice to conceal his secret identity.
During his prank, Jared made one Harley Quinn’s day. Cosplayer Kristen Corradeno was surprised when she heard that baboon say, “Hey Harley. I’m surprised you don’t recognize my voice.” Jared revealed his identity to Kristen, much to her amazement, and the two chatted for a few minutes. Jared posed for a picture, proving that he was there, but had to quickly head out to commit some more mischief.
That CRAZY MOMENT when @jaredleto is behind you on the street and says "Hey Harley. I'm surprised you don't recognize my voice." I'm on his snapchat right now! What is life? Thanks so much for being so awesome, Jared! It was so cool casually chatting with ya for a few minutes 😍 I just wish I had met him when I was in full cosplay! Today I was post-convention Harley Quinn 😵 #SuicideSquadMovie #SuicideSquadCosplay #HarleyQuinnCosplay

Jared has become quite the chameleon ever since taking on the role of The Joker. He dyed his hair lime green for the role, but switched it up to neon pink for his appearance at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards. Jared didn’t stay “tickled pink” for long, as he was seen sporting cherry red hair soon after. It was impossible to tell what color his hair was under his mask during his NYCC prank. Maybe sky blue?
What do you think of Jared’s prank, HollywoodLifers? Was it “ha-ha” funny? Were you at NYCC? Did you see Jared?
