Praise! ‘Jane The Virgin’ season two is finally here! The beloved CW show, starring Golden Globe winner Gina Rodriguez, premieres Oct. 12, and we have 5 key things to know before you watch!
We are truly blessed. Jane The Virgin returns to our TV screens Oct. 12, but there’s drama on the horizon. From Jane (Gina Rodriguez) dealing with Baby Mateo’s kidnapping to weddings to Britney Spears, here are 5 season two teases that you have to know before the premiere!
1. About that premiere…
Baby Mateo will be returned to Jane, but crazy drama goes down. Being a new mom and all, Jane turns to Xo (Andrea Navedo) and Alba (Ivonne Coll) for help, and Rafael (Justin Baldoni) ends up feeling left out of the loop. Petra (Yael Grobglas) also struggles with what to do with Rafael’s sperm sample.
2. There’s a new mystery!
“We launch a new mystery that will involve a lot of our people,” executive producer and creator Jennie Urman told Huffington Post. She added that she wanted to “wrap up a lot of stuff early on so that we could embark on fresh drama.”
3. Jane WILL get married.
Yep, Jane will walk down the aisle, but it might not be with who you think. “We’ve left Jane in a place where she has to make a choice but she had something giant happen to her, so you don’t just go back to your romantic feelings right away,” Jennie said. “There’s going to be twists and turns along that path, but [the wedding] is what we’ll build to eventually. That said, that is one of her focuses.”
4. Jane’s losing her virginity is not a top priority.
While Jane has two cute suitors, don’t expect a huge buildup about her losing her virginity. “I want her to achieve what she set out to achieve because it’s important to her,” Jennie told HuffPost. “So beyond that I’m not too concerned, we always have twists and turns — without saying too much — if and when she loses her virginity we’ll just keep [the show’s] title and put a line through the ‘Virgin.’”
5. Britney Spears will be a guest star this season.
The pop star will be hitting up the show in season two. She’ll appear in the fifth episode of the second season. Britney will be Rogelio’s nemesis!
Jane The Virgin airs Mondays at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
