Uh oh! As the ‘Dancing With The Stars’ cast prepares for their switch up episode, pro Emma Slater admits that she’s worried about Hayes Grier’s performance with another dancer.
Emma Slater, 26, has really bonded with her celebrity partner, Hayes Grier, 15. In fact, she’s really taken a “big sister” role over the teen who she describes as “not Hollywood at all.” So, what’s in store for the partnered pair as they prepare to work with someone new on Dancing With The Stars.
“The switch up is really shocking. I’m not ready to switch partners from Hayes,” Emma told HollywoodLife.com EXCLUSIVELY over the phone during her downtime in Los Angeles, Calif. “I feel like we’ve made so much progress, and we have such a great partnership and we’ve established that trust and that communication. I know what he likes and I know what he’s good at, and now I’m gonna have to hand him off to somebody else that doesn’t have that knowledge.”
In fact, Emma reveals that’s what she’s most worried about during the switch up: handing Hayes off to another dancer. “That’s my big concern, that he’s going to be partnered with someone and it’s all going to come crashing down,” Emma explained nervously. “I always worry about my partner in switch up, not so much myself, because when I get somebody else I like to bulldoze my way in there personality wise and just be like hey, straight up, this is me. Tell me what you like and what you’re about and I’ll try to get things done really quick and put together the best routine possible. But with Hayes he’s so used to learning from me, I’m sure he will give so much respect to his new partner, I just hope that they can use his strengths when they choreograph.”
Emma Reveals Her & Hayes Biggest Distraction
Aside from being split up from one another, what is the one thing that can take Emma and Hayes’ attention away from practicing? According to Emma, it’s the other dancers!
“The one thing that distracts us the most? I would say it would probably be… the other people,” Emma explained EXCLUSIVELY to HollywoodLife.com. “You know, we rehearse in a complex with a lot of the other couples and there’s a lot of couples that rehearse there. We’re all switching rooms so that it makes it even and fair who gets which room and what not. People poking their head in and trying to sabotage and trying to watch our routine, that’s what distracts us the most. So we have to lock the door sometimes!”
Fingers crossed that Emma and Hayes make it through this switch up so they can go back to dancing with one another!
