Anyone have a tissue? Just wait until you see how excited Andrew Lincoln gets when his former co-star, Jon Bernthal, surprises him and the rest of ‘The Walking Dead’ cast at the NYC premiere! Click inside to WATCH!
Andrew Lincoln, 42, sure got the surprise of a lifetime when Jon Bernthal, 39, walked out onto the Madison Square Garden stage during The Walking Dead fan premiere on Friday night, Oct. 9. Not only does Andrew rush to embrace Jon, but the rest of the cast happily swarmed him with a massive group hug. So sweet!
As a hardcore TWD fan I can tell you that there is NOTHING quite like watching Rick and Shane reunite before your very eyes. Thankfully, if you weren’t at the NYC premiere on Oct. 9, AMC has uploaded the incredible reunion video to their YouTube page for fans everywhere to revel in.
It all went down when Chad L. Coleman (formerly Tyreese on TWD) stepped into the audience to take a question from one lucky fan. Her question? Simple: what would things be like if Shane (Jon’s character) had lived? Before Andrew could even start to answer, Jon came bustling out onto the stage to demand a response.
Of course Andrew practically jumped out of his seat and ran across the stage to hug Jon, who dropped his mic so he could wrap his arms around his old pal. They may have played BFF’s-turned-mortal enemies on the show, but it’s clear by their reaction to each other live on stage that their bond goes way beyond the screen. I’m not going to lie, I was in the audience during this moment and I definitely teared up. And by teared up I mean I was a sobbing disaster and I regret nothing.
Be sure to check out HollywoodLife.com‘s EXCLUSIVE interview with Lennie James, the man behind Rick’s latest on-screen frenemy, Morgan. And a recap of TWD‘s season six premiere episode, which was way intense!
