Kanye’s hilarious turn was chronicled by wife Kim Kardashian, who shared her beloved’s surprise appearance with her fans on Instagram. In the snaps, you can see Jennifer Lopez struggling to regain her composure and laughing her head off while Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban are equally amused, beaming huge smiles as Kanye appears in front of them.
Kim’s pic seemed have been taken on a backstage monitor, so clearly host Ryan Seacrest, who’s also the executive producer of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, must’ve been in on the joke, too. But the judges were speechless!
Needless to say, with Kanye’s talent, the hip-hop star was offered a “golden ticket” to the Hollywood’s final round, which he proudly raised in the air after he was critiqued by the judges.
Before wowing the American Idol judges, Kanye performed in front of president Barack Obama at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser.
Obama even joked about Kanye’s plans to run for President in 2020. “In case Kanye is serious about this whole POTUS thing – or as he calls it, ”Peezy”– I do have advice for him. First of all you gotta spend a lot of time dealing with some strange characters who behave like they’re on a reality TV show. So you’ve gotta be cool with that.”
He continued: “This is a second important tip: saying that you have a beautiful, dark, twisted fantasy – that’s what known as ‘off-message’ in politics. You can’t say something like that. And number three: do you really think that this country is gonna elect a black guy from the south side of Chicago with a funny name to be President of the United States? That is crazy. That’s cray.”
Ha! That’s hilarious! But do you think Kanye’s star turn on American Idol was funny, HollywoodLifers? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
