Randy Quaid’s legal troubles are spiraling out of control. The actor and his wife, Evi, were arrested at the Vermont/Canadian border on Oct. 9, as they tried to flee Canada ahead of their deportation.
The trouble continues for Randy Quaid, 65, and his wife, Evi, 52. The couple have once again been arrested in connection to their 2010 felony vandalism case, and this time, they may be forced to come to terms with the charges. They were detained at the border of Vermont and Canada on Oct. 9 while attempting to flee.
Randy and Evi fled to Canada in 2010 after they were arrested in Santa Barbara for felony vandalism. However, they were denied permanent residency in Canada in 2012, and are set to be deported back to the U.S. on Oct. 14. But Canadian officials reportedly didn’t think Randy and Evi would comply with the deportation, and they were arrested on Oct. 8.
The two were released after a hearing, but when they were caught running from Canada on the 9th, they were taken in once again. However, Canadian police handed them over to Vermont officials to deal with — they were booked at state detention centers with bail set at $500,000. No further update has been given at this time.
Randy, who is Dennis Quaid’s brother, has been evading the police with his wife since 2010 — they’ve now been arrested eight times! The trouble began in Sept. 2010 in Santa Barbara, when they were charged with burglary for living in a guest house without the owner’s permission. They failed to appear at several subsequent court appearances for the charges, and although they got away with living in Canada for nearly five years without being extradited, it looks like their luck has finally run out.
HollywoodLifers, are you shocked that Randy and Evi finally got caught?
