So heartbreaking. Just hours after Jim Carrey helped lay his late girlfriend, Cathriona White, to rest in Ireland, he took to Twitter to share a beautiful message for her, along with a rare photo of the pair. See his tribute here.
Jim Carrey, 53, is devastated over the death of his on-off girlfriend, Cathriona White, 30. Following her sad funeral in Ireland on Oct. 10, the actor tweeted a romantic photo of himself with his late lover, and shared a final tribute for Cathriona. Click inside to read his message.
“Love cannot be lost,” he wrote, simply, including a red rose emoji. But the sweetest part of Jim’s tweet was the black and white, silhouette photo of the pair, which shows them gazing lovingly at each other as she cozies up to his chest. Even though their relationship had been on-and-off since they got together in 2012 — they reportedly split on Sept. 24, just days before Cathriona was found dead in her residence — it’s clear that the actor really cares about the 30-year-old, and is missing her deeply.
Jim served as a pallbearer when Cathriona was laid to rest in Cappawhite, Ireland on Oct. 10. The 53-year-old reportedly broke down in tears as he helped carry the coffin, and Cathriona was buried next to her father, who had died three years before she allegedly committed suicide. Friends went to check on Cathriona at her home on Sept. 28, and she was found unconscious with pills next to her body.
Sadly, Cathriona seemed to have had a very difficult life. As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, she suffered from depression, and had tried to kill herself before after her father’s death in 2012. To make this whole tragedy even more heartbreaking, it’s been reported that Cathriona’s biological mother wrote her a letter calling her a “failure” just days before the 30-year-old took her life.
Our thoughts remain with Jim and Cathriona’s family during this difficult time. HollywoodLifers, leave your condolences in the comments section below.
