Jim Carrey attended the funeral of late girlfriend Cathriona White in Cappawhite, Ireland on Oct. 10 as she was laid to rest after her tragic suicide. The actor helped carry Cathriona’s casket amongst the other pallbearers at the service. What a sad day for everyone who loved Cathriona.
Jim Carrey, 53, said his final goodbye to his “delicate Irish flower,” Cathriona White, on Oct. 10 at the 28-year-old’s funeral in Cappawhite, located in Tipperary, Ireland. The devastated actor helped carry Cathriona’s coffin and broke down as he walked with her family and friends to her final resting place.
The beloved actor arrived to Our Lady of Fatima church in the Irish village to pay his respects to his ex-girlfriend. After the funeral service honoring the life of Cathriona, Jim and pallbearers carried her coffin on their shoulders through town. Jim looked overcome with grief.
As he walked with other mourners, Jim broke down in tears. This must be so hard for him. What a devastating loss. When the coffin was lowered into the ground at her gravesite, Jim hugged Cathriona’s family, according to Daily Mail. She was laid to rest beside her father, who died in 2012.
At Cathriona’s funeral ceremony, she was said to be a “small town girl with big dreams who was not afraid to follow them. The priest told those those in attendance. “In 1985, Cathriona was baptized with joy into this Christian community. We assemble now in a very different atmosphere to welcome her home. We gather in silent, sad, grief-stricken fáilte. At this time, we welcome home one of our own…The circumstances of our being here today cause us great sadness and remind us how vulnerable we are. We need God’s blessing and the support of each other.”
Cathriona was found dead of an apparent suicide on Sept. 28. She was found with pills by her side, which were allegedly Jim’s prescription pills. The couple had allegedly broken up just days before her death. HollywoodLife.com learned EXCLUSIVELY that Cathriona suffered from deep depression, and she allegedly tried to commit suicide once before.
We hope that Cathriona is free from any pain or suffering now. Our thoughts are with Cathriona’s family and friends during this difficult time.
