Jack Black was only 14 when he became addicted to cocaine. The actor opened up about his troubled youth and revealed he ‘cried like a baby’ when he admitted to his school therapist about the drug addition.

This is insane! Jack Black, 46, had a really bad addiction to cocaine when he was 14 years old. As time progressed, things got worse and the actor admitted to even stealing from his mom to get money for the narcotic! Thankfully Jack was able to confide in a school therapist about his drug problem which then led to his sobriety.

Jack felt like he had no one to turn to. The 46-year-old said he couldn’t tell his father and needed someone who wouldn’t be disappointed in him. It wasn’t until Jack transferred schools and talked to his school therapist about his issues. “I spilled my guts, telling him I felt guilty about stealing from my mom to get money for cocaine,” he told Parade for their Oct. 11 issue. “I cried like a baby. It was a huge release and a huge relief. I left feeling euphoric, like an enormous weight had been lifted from me. It changed me.” The actor revealed that he endured a lot of turmoil from his younger days.

“I was having a lot of troubles with cocaine … I was hanging out with some pretty rough characters,” he continued to say. “I was scared to go to school [because] one of them wanted to kill me. I wanted to get out of there.” Jack’s parents heard his cry for help and enrolled him in Poseidon, a school for troubled youths in the Los Angeles area. Imagine if Jack didn’t transfer schools or meet the school therapist that helped him become sober. He wouldn’t have been able to discover his love for acting!

Jack Black Brings Creepy Classic ‘Goosebumps’ Back To Life

The 46-year-old is starring in a film about the classic Goosebumps book series. “The books are really funny and scary and exciting and we just wanted the movie to be as awesome and cool as the book series was and I think we cracked the code,” he told Good Morning America. The movie, smartly, is actually going to be about the Goosebumps books. Jack will depict R.L., whose horrific creatures come to life, forcing one young man (Dylan Minnette) to stop them. Scary!
