We’re up to episode 10 of ‘Project Runway’ — and this week a talented designer was sent home. Not only were we sad to see a certain contestant go, but for the first time ever in ‘Runway’ history, Tim Gunn gets emotional and curses out a designer! We certainly weren’t expecting that — but read on for more info in our recap.

On this week’s episode the Project Runway designers are making over members of the show’s crew for the Sally Beauty challenge — this is so cool! For the first time, we’ll get to see, (and hear!), from the members of the team that are often behind the cameras. How cool is that? We’re honestly totally obsessed with a makeover moment.

The members of the crew are very vocal about what they like and what they don’t like — it will be interesting to see how the designers translate their requests! Luckily for the contestants, they have two days for this challenge…and they are definitely going to need it. Next, they’re off to Mood, where they have a half hour and a $200 budget.

Tim Gunn does the rounds with the crew member clients — it is a critique and a fitting all in one. He is being really hard on the designers — and rightfully so, because they seem to be slipping on challenge 10 and losing sight of their design elements. Tim gets especially annoyed at Swapnil, calling “bullsh*t” and saying he’s fed up — he even cursed! “What is the f*cking point?” Wow — I can’t remember ever seeing Tim get so heated in this competition…and he asked him: “Why are you here?”

It isn’t all bad news…Tim comes in and tells them they can have another fitting with the crew members later in the day. Needless to say, the first one was definitely a wake-up call.

Kelly is praised by the judges — especially Nina! Considering she couldn’t stand her look last time, this was great. Candice’s outfit seemed too “red light district” in Zac Posen‘s words. Nina Garcia says the clothes are wearing her. “She choked,” Nina Garcia said of Ashley.

Kelly is the winner — I’m so happy to see her recover from the week before. Edmond and Merline are safe. Merline really pulled it together this week…I definitely thought she was going to go.

Heidi Klum says one or more could go home — and unfortunately Swapnil is out. I feel terrible — he had so much potential but couldn’t get it together the past few challenges. He cries while saying goodbye to the designers — and I can’t help but tear up. Not only did he clash with his crew member, making a third look at the last moment and still getting it all wrong, but the judges didn’t think he was trying hard enough.

Ashley and Candice are both safe, even though Heidi made it seem like one of them could go home. She tells them to step it up and take risks — I definitely think they are going to.

I’m so sad to see Swapnil go…I almost thought Tim Gunn might save him, but sadly that wasn’t the case.

Do you agree? What did you think of this week’s elimination?
