Former L.A. Lakers player Matt Barnes has finally broken his silence on his fight with his now former friend, Derek Fisher. From a bloody lip to a full out brawl, the once ‘good friends’ got into bloody altercation, and because of it, their friendship ‘is over.’
Matt Barnes, 35, and Derek Fisher, 41, who were once “good friends” for many years, no longer have any type of relationship. Why? Because Matt attacked Derek on Oct. 3, when he found out his former Lakers teammate has been dating his wife! Following their bloody fight and the discovery of Derek’s relationship with Gloria Govan, 45, Matt said their friendship is so “over.”
When the Memphis Grizzlies forward was spotted at the FedEx Forum, TMZ asked him where he and Derek stand today. “We were good friends at one point,” Matt told the site, while taking a break from his teams workout. “But clearly that friendship is over.” He continued to state that the whole situation is a “personal matter” and that he plans on letting the “legal process” take over from there.
So what does Derek have to say about the fight? Before the New York Knicks preseason game on Oct. 7, he said he was just focused on coaching his team against Brazil’s Paschoalotto Bauru. He then declined to answer any specific questions that have to do with his fight with Matt, according to ESPN.
As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, the two former teammates got in a bloody fight on Oct. 3, when Matt rushed to Derek’s home to confront him about dating his estranged wife, Basketball Wives LA star Gloria Govan, 45. With a punch to the lip and a few scratches, the two guys engaged in a vicious brawl that only Matt’s children were able to end by begging them to stop. So sad.
HollywoodLifers, do you think Matt has the right to feel betrayed by Derek? Let us know!
