Nearly four months after John Stamos was arrested for a DUI, a new development has surfaced with his case. John is reportedly going to be charged with driving under the influence of GHB.
When John Stamos, 52, was arrested for driving erratically in Beverly Hills on June 12, he was later hospitalized as police believed he needed attention for a possible medical condition. A new report broke on Oct. 9 that John’s condition was the result of GHB, a narcotic that was in his system at the time of his arrest.
Although John has not had any offenses since his June arrest, the case has been under investigation. A test revealed that he had GHB in his system the night of his arrest, along with another non-narcotic drug, according to TMZ. Sources told the outlet that John was apparently using the drug as a fitness supplement, but unfortunately that doesn’t void his charge.
John’s use of GHB was specifically to “lean out body mass,” sources said, as he prepared for his role on his new show Grandfathered. This isn’t an unusual use for the drug, as it is typically used by bodybuilders for lean muscle as well as muscle recovery during sleep. John’s case is reportedly going to be filed soon, which will outline the drugs more specifically.
Following his arrest, John checked himself into rehab in July. After completing treatment, he tweeted to his fans to let them know he was doing much better.“I’m back! Took a month to take care of things. Healthy. Feeling grateful for the love & support of family & friends,” he wrote.
As John’s case gets worked out, his career couldn’t be doing any better. Grandfathered premiered in September, and he is also busy filming (and producing!) the Full House reboot, Fuller House, which is set to hit Netflix in 2016.
