Alek Skarlatos is busy on ‘Dancing With The Stars,’ but his heart is with his good friend and fellow American hero, Spencer Stone, today. Spencer was stabbed during a knife fight in the early morning of Oct. 8, and Alek sent a message of support on Twitter asking for his followers’ prayers.

Spencer Stone, 23, has an angel on his shoulder once again. The U.S Airman survived a stabbing in Sacramento on Oct. 8, just weeks after he and his friends, Alek Skarlatos and Anthony Sadler, stopped a terrorist attack on a train in France. Alek made sure to send some love to his friend on Twitter after this brutal attack.

“Everyone send prayers out to the stone family today,” the Dancing With The Stars contestant wrote, keeping it short and simple, but making it clear that his thoughts are with his friend. Spencer is in stable condition after the fight in Sacramento, but it’s absolutely horrible to hear about what he went through — especially since he was also stabbed in the neck with a box cutter while trying to take down Ayoub El Khazzani with Alek and Anthony in August.

“Spencer Stone was with a group of friends when an altercation with someone outside the group emerged,” a spokesperson for the Sacramento Police Department tells “The physical altercation led to multiple stabbings. Stone was the only person injured. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital. At this time, there are no suspects and there is no one in custody. The case is under investigation.”

Alek is very focused on DWTS right now, but it’s been a pretty difficult time for him. The 23-year-old actually attended Umpqua Community College, the school where a mass shooting occurred on Oct. 1. He actually would have been taking classes on the very campus this fall had he not signed up for DWTS, so hearing the news of the nine deaths and nine injuries was certainly emotional for him.

Our thoughts remain with Spencer as he recovers from this attack.
