Sitting down for an interview with NME magazine, Taylor opened up a number of topics including the huge success of her first pop album, 1989, her star-studded stadium tour, her role in the public eye and her relationships with some of her fellow musicians. Though she was hesitant to say much on the latter, Taylor did eventually come around to offer some wise words about her headline-making feud with the “Anaconda” rapper. “I don’t want to talk about it,” she said. “But I send text messages now. If there seems to be some kind of misunderstanding, I go to someone’s management, I get their number and I text them. It’s an important lesson for anyone to learn in 2015.” Indeed it is!
For those who might not remember, the two famously got into it back in July 2015 when Taylor mistakingly took offense with a series of Tweets Nicki posted slamming MTV for snubbing her in the “Video of the Year” category, in which Taylor was a nominee. The pair went back and forth about the issue for several days before Tay eventually apologized for the misunderstanding and decided to seal her new-found friendship with Nicki by joining onstage at the VMAs for an epic performance.
One feud Taylor was willing to elaborate on however, was her once contentious relationship with Kanye West, 38. “Me and Kanye are on such good terms now, six years later,” Taylor admit. “It took a while… But I had to tell Beck, 45, this story earlier. I was at dinner with Kanye a week after the Grammys, he stops what he’s saying and he goes, ‘What is this song? I need to listen to this every day.’ I said, ‘It’s Beck, it’s on an album called ‘Morning Phase’, I think you’ve heard of it…’ We just burst out laughing. And he says, ‘Hey, sometimes I’m wrong.’”
Who knows, maybe Taylor will be making up Miley Cyrus before long. On second though HollywoodLifers, don’t hold your breath on that one.
