In the photo, which was posted to her Instagram account on Oct. 7, the “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” singer can be seen going braless under a louche white jumpsuit and showing off a hint of her bare cleavage. In keeping with the look of her Revival album cover, Selena kept the rest of her look relatively pared-back, accessorizing with just a a stack of silver rings, a sleek metal choker and a gorgeous ‘no-makeup’ makeup look. Can you say bombshell?!
The cover couldn’t come at a better time for Selena, who is not only releasing her new album in the coming weeks, but also taking a strong public stand against her body shamers. The “Good For You” singer recently revealed that she was forced to check herself into therapy after having to endure so much ‘awful’ criticism over her body weight in the past year. “Even if I did gain weight, I’m fine. That’s what the picture represents,” the 23-year-old told Us Weekly about her sexy and almost nude Revival album cover. “This was the first year I ever dealt with anyone talking about my body. I’d land at the airport and people would yell out, ‘You’re fat!’ It was awful.”
Thankfully, Selena refuses to let the body shaming bring her down, and continues to focus on the positives in her life. “This is my time. I’ve deserved this. I earned it. This is all me,” she says in her Billboard interview. And should she ever get down in the dumps, Selena knows exactly who to turn to: her BFF Taylor Swift, 25. “Taylor makes me feel empowered, like I can trust new people,” she says of the Squad. “All of those girls are so dope. We ran around taking pictures, changing dresses, dancing — super-cliche girly stuff, but it rocked. The way she cares about women is so adamant. It’s pulling me out of my shell.” Way to go, girl!
