Yikes, this isn’t good. Sean Avery was arrested on Sept. 30 after he allegedly threw objects at passing cars…and was then found with subscription drugs once he was pulled over!
Sean Avery, 35, has found himself in some trouble. The former New York Rangers hockey player was pulled over as part of a routine traffic stop in Southampton Village on Sept. 30, and subsequently charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief and two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance. Eek!
The criminal mischief charge actually came from an event that happened the day before the arrest, when Sean allegedly started throwing things at passing cars. The specifics of this incident have not been made public, but it’s been confirmed that the NHL star had contacted police about speeding cars on Sept. 29.
Things got worse when he was being questioned by the cops at the traffic stop, though — because Sean was found to be in possession of the prescription drugs acetaminophen with oxycodone and roxicodone! His charges are all misdemeanors and he was released on $500 bail, but he’ll have to appear in court eventually.
The 35-year-old’s lawyer claims that Sean — who once interned at Vogue — has prescriptions for the medications he was found with. To add to that point, Sean took to Twitter to post a picture of what appears to be a list of his prescriptions to said drugs. “Pretty disgusting I even have to do this but unfortunately it’s the same old story,” he wrote. “Have fun with this one.” His lawyer added that he looks forward to addressing the criminal mischief charge in court.
