‘Most memorable year’ night turned into a night Sharna Burgess had always dreamed of. In this week’s exclusive blog, she reveals that when AJ McLean and Nick Carter taught her the ‘Everybody’ dance, she flashed back to copying it after school when she was only 13. So cute!
As any girl would be, Sharna Burgess was absolutely glowing on the Oct. 5 episode of Dancing with the Stars, when she took the stage in a stunning little leather number and performed “Everybody” with Nick Carter. The night represented his most memorable year — 1996, when he met the Backstreet Boys, and they changed his life. Here’s this week’s blog, by Sharna, exclusive for HollywoodLife.
Well after last night, I guess it’s safe to say that Dreams really do come true! I never could’ve imagined at 13 years old when I was standing there after school copying the Backstreet Boys choreography to “Everybody,” that all these years later I would be on Dancing With The Stars dancing with a Backstreet Boy (with some of the Backstreet Boys in the audience!) and dancing to that very same song. It was surreal!
This week went from epic moment to epic moment. I was so happy that Nick let me into this side of his world; I learned a lot about him, and at the same time I got to live out a little bit of my rockstar dreams! I couldn’t have imagined this performance going better. I think Nick was perfection, and I had the time of my life with him on that stage. I hope it was as fun for fans to watch as it was for me to perform that iconic BSB song with Nick!
Headed into next week, we have the “Switch Up” which is hard because I don’t get to dance with Nick for a week. However I know whoever he’s with, he will be in great hands and hopefully he will come back to me in even better shape than he was this week so we can move forward in the competition. Thanks once to our incredible fans for their support last night! Go #TeamSharNick!
Of course, come back every week for more from Nick and Sharna!
