Sam Smith Releases Epic Video For James Bond Theme, ‘Writing’s On The Wall’ — Watch

Ever wonder what it’s like to be James Bond? Sam Smith got a taste of the Bond life in the video for his ‘Spectre’ theme song, ‘Writing’s On The Wall,’ and it looks pretty amazing. Watch the awesome vid below!

As the mastermind behind the newest James Bond theme, “Writing’s On The Wall,” for the upcoming film, Spectre, Sam Smith got to make a pretty cool music video for the song. The 23-year-old crooner’s vid doesn’t disappoint, as it’s everything a Bond fan (like Sam himself!) could want. Take a look and see what we mean!

The video features Sam in a very classy, Bond-like black tuxedo belting out the tune intermixed with scenes from Spectre, including a love scene between Bond (Daniel Craig) and Lucia (Monica Bellucci). Sam shot the vid in Rome, where Spectre was also filmed — in fact, the video even takes place in some of the exact same locations as the movie! We can only imagine he felt like Bond for a day!

While promoting “Writing’s On The Wall” before the video’s release, Sam — whose album In The Lonely Hour you can buy here — has made it clear that he is a huge Bond fan himself, which probably made this video even cooler for him! In a hilarious promo for the single’s release, he posted an Instagram pretending to be a Bond girl. Thanks to his new music video, though, Sam no longer needs to pretend he’s part of a Bond movie!

Although Spectre doesn’t hit theaters until Nov. 6, the “Writing’s On The Wall” video comes at the most Bond-related time imaginable. With its Oct. 5 release, the video is the perfect way to celebrate Global James Bond day, which marks the 53rd anniversary of the very first Bond film, Dr. No, hitting theaters in 1962! We love the significance of the release date — and we definitely love having Sam’s vid to watch on repeat until Spectre arrives!
