Carrie, Saul and Quinn are back! ‘Homeland’ season five premiered on Oct. 4, and everything has changed. The new season is going to be insane and intense, so here’s some juicy scoop to hold you over until the next episode!

Homeland’s been through a lot of changes over the past few seasons, and the show’s found its fitting again in season five. What’s next for Carrie (Claire Danes), Quinn (Rupert Friend) and Saul (Mandy Patinkin)? Check out these spoilers about an even more tortured Quinn, Carrie’s new relationship and outlook on life.

Season five of Homeland featured an all-new Carrie. She actually seemed happy. While the Carrie-Quinn shippers out there were surprised to find out that Carrie’s found a new man in the form of a colleague, but he might actually be the best guy she’s had — ever.

“He meets a handsome guy [Alexander Fehling] and they hit it off. I don’t think she is making a mistake on that front. I think she has chosen wisely. This guy is a really good guy,” executive producer Alex Gansa told our sister site TVLine.

The new Carrie’s also discovered religion in season five, but will it be enough for her? “Her newfound faith is also helped her come to terms with what she’s done,” Alex told The Hollywood Reporter. “She’s running away from it, but it’s right over her shoulder.

It wasn’t surprising to see the beloved Quinn has gotten even darker season five, considering where we found out he went at the end of the season four finale. Quinn’s new job has definitely “affected” him in a way that barely anyone can understand.

“Quinn was doing everything he could to get out, to escape the gravitational pull of that rabbit hole. And he failed,” Alex said in the interview with TVLine. “He and Carrie missed each other. The timing was wrong. And since then Quinn has been down in Syria and Iraq leading the special ops team for the past two years, fighting these militias, and you can only imagine the s–t he has seen down there. And that can’t help but affect somebody. And it certainly affected him.”

Homeland airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on Showtime.
