Donald Trump wasn’t amused with Hillary Clinton’s hilarious ‘SNL’ sketch with Kate McKinnon, and snuck in a catty dig at his fellow candidate on Twitter. Haven’t we learned by now that if you say ANYTHING about Donald, good or bad, he’s not going to just let it go?
Donald Trump, 67, apparently watched the amazing season 41 premiere of Saturday Night Live on October 3, because he shared some definite opinions about the episode. The cold open mocking Donald and his wife Melania? Totally hilarious. Real-life Hillary Clinton having a chat with Kate McKinnon in a different sketch? Not. Okay.
In the hilarious “Hillary Clinton Bar Talk” sketch, Kate’s version of Hillary is trying to take at easy at a bar, where she’s served by bartender Val — the IRL-Hillary. They share their thoughts on politics, the presidential race, everything plaguing Hillary’s mind during this trying time…including some bully named Donald.
“Oh Val. I’m just so darn bummed. All anyone ever wants to talk about is Donald Trump,” Hillary (Kate) tells the bartender after they’ve “bumped their fists in friendship.”
“Donald Trump? Isn’t he the one who’s like ‘uhhh you’re all losers,'” Val says, doing a spot on imitation of Donald. It’s so good that even Kate can’t help breaking. The two discuss Donald’s chances of actually winning the primaries; Hillary wants this to happen because, “I must be the one to take him down. I will destroy him and I will mount his hair in the Oval Office!”
So…Donald wasn’t very happy with this sketch. He retweeted one of his followers on October 3, who said: “@TaranKillam plays a way better fake @realDonaldTrump than a real @HillaryClinton plays herself @nbcsnl” Damn, guys. Okay, Donald and his loyal follower are very upset that Kate and Hillary dare call him names. But there’s some fundamental problems here. Hillary didn’t play herself on SNL. She played a bartender named Val. Argument invalid!
Now, Taran Killam‘s cold open with Cecily Strong was amazing. Taran played Trump to a tee. “It’s very simple,” Taran, as Donald, says in the sketch. “I get in there, taxes go down, everybody gets a job, salaries go way up, we build a wall, it’s huge. Over in China, they’re going to say, ‘Now, that’s a wall!’”
The loyal Melania (Cecily) is played off as clueless to her husband’s true intentions for the country; she’s just so proud! “He’s like everyone else. He puts his hair on one strand at a time!” It’s interesting that Donald doesn’t care about this mockery, but is so ready to go after Hillary’s. Sound familiar?
HollywoodLifers, do you think Donald’s overreacting to the SNL sketch? Sound off in the comments and take our poll!
