Star Trek Beyond is not hitting theaters until 2016, but new photos that have surfaced from the set give us a glimpse of what’s to come. If you want to know what’s going down in the super secretive third movie, including what happens to the Enterprise, you’re going to want to see these set photos!

The new Star Trek movie appears to shooting alien planet scenes, according to TMZ. A special effects stage was also set up to film interior shots of the USS Enterprise, which endures nasty damage in the third film. CLICK TO SEE THE PICS!

It’s really hard to tell what is exactly going on in the photos, but it’s clear that it’s something big. The entire cast, including Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto, have been tight-lipped about plot details.

Many stars from the first two reboot films are also returning for the third film, including Zoe Saldana, Anton Yelchin, Simon Pegg and John Cho. Idris Elba will play the villain in the highly-anticipated Star Trek Beyond.

He wouldn’t spill anything about the plot except that he has scenes with Spock! His character is a completely new character, and Idris admits it’s a “groundbreaking role.”

“Simon [Pegg] and the team have written a very interesting, complex journey for my character,” Idris told MTV. “You’ve never seen me play a character like this… “I think ’Star Trek’ has prided themselves as being quite classic when it comes to villains, like ’he’s a guy who wants to end the world,’ there’s no doubt about that. But in this version of the film, there’s a slightly different twist to that. It’s quite an interesting journey, which I think is groundbreaking for the franchise. But, it still keeps with the ’classic bad guy is a classic bad guy’ tone.”

Star Trek Beyond will hit theaters July 22, 2016.
