Get ready, New York City. Coachella might be coming for you. The producers behind one of the most popular music festivals are planning something big in 2016 — could Coachella be making a cross country trip?!
Coachella is always one of the hottest and most celeb-filled music festivals of the year. It’s the place everyone wants to be. The festival’s producers are looking to have an NYC-based festival in 2016, according to a new report. Well, could the festival be making its way to New York next year?! Find out now!
Sorry, NYCers, Coachella will not be coming to the Big Apple. However, something very similar could be. AEG Live, the entertainment company behind Coachella, wants to put on another festival at Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York, the New York Daily News reports.
The festival, which is being called Panorama for right now, would be one of the biggest events in Queens since the World’s Fair in 1964. It would be a music-filled summer for New York citizens. The festival would likely take place two weeks after the Governor’s Ball. AEG has reportedly already started recruiting music acts.
Coachella takes over Indio, Calif. every year. From the edgy, hip fashion to the musical acts, there’s never a dull moment at Coachella. Kylie Jenner, Kendall Jenner, Justin Bieber, Jaden Smith, and Nina Dobrev are among the big stars who always attend the hot festival. Kylie showed off a number of colorful wigs and partied alongside boyfriend Tyga last year. Nina attended the festival just days after wrapping her final scenes on The Vampire Diaries. Drake and Madonna shared a hot makeout session on stage at the 2015 event. It was nuts.
The 2015 festival drew almost 200,000 ticketholders this past year. Drake, The Weeknd, AC/DC, FKA Twigs, Hozier, Tyler the Creator were among the performers in 2015. If Panorama does come to New York City, it’s sure to attract insanely big names in the music industry.
